My Path
My path to a spiritual awakening as a healer has been unique, as each one is. The principles, however, are universal. I share the details of my experiences privately with those I assist when it helps them to understand their own transformation.
It was my journey within.
The broad themes are recognizable: an initiating Crisis; Death and Rebirth; awakening the Gift within; being strengthened and tested; sequential Initiations; learning to use power in the service of the Sacred. In being healed myself, I became able to heal. Now I serve others.
It is the path of the Wounded Healer.
Some of the particulars may be familiar for those who have read the stories of other healers: out-of-body experiences at an early age; an archetypal presence entering my body and marking me; hit by lightning; kissed by fire; recognized and blessed by Elders; gratitude and humility for how I was guided; the commitment to offer my Gift in the service of All that lives.
Looking back, I know that the ability was within me from birth, like a seed waiting to sprout. I can see all the synchronicity and grace that provided just what I needed at the time to awaken and grow. I benefited from an inner knowing that operated like a compass to point the way. I realize the truth of the age-old wisdom “when the student is ready, the teacher will come.” In my case, described as the Butterfly Path by my teachers, many resources gathered around me like flowers, each one seeing the Gift within me and doing its part to serve what was taking place.
I am now 76 years old and have spent more than 35 years preparing, being trained, and being of service to hundreds of people. People consider me a healer, a shaman, and a teacher. I have been a keeper of my tradition and have had a healing practice for more than 30 years. In December, 1996, my most influential guide and teacher, “Windrider” Lydia Gomez, a Mayan-Aztec Medicine Woman, designated me her spiritual grandson in a ceremony in California. I carry on today the tradition of experiential teaching and training with individuals and groups.
